Return of the Living Dead

Return of the Living Dead

Directed by Dan O’Bannon

Released 1985

“ They’re back from the grave and ready to PARTY!”

So screamed the tag line. A slapstick zombie film with plenty of gore and silliness.

The film boasts a great story line with sharp dialogue and a cool soundtrack including Surfin’ Dead by the Cramps. Also featuring zombies that can run and talk....... “BRAAAIINNS!”

Originally written as a novel by John Russo who worked with Romero on Night of the living Dead, the two men were in dispute over the direction the next films should take. So Russo took his idea to Tobe Hooper who wrote a screen play which was then in turn taken up by Dan O’Bannon who wrote his own screenplay.

The film has currently spawned 4 sequels.
