Re-animator

Re-animator

Director, Stuart Gordon

Released, 1985

The first of 3 films in the “Re-animator” series, the others being, “Bride of Re-animator” and  “Beyond Re-animator”. All starring the brilliant Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Herbert West (who has found the key to eternal life, or so he thinks).

Stuart Gordon has said he would like to film a 4th instalment of the series, named “House of Re-animator”. We live in hope.........!

The film never takes itself too seriously and therein lies its appeal. At times hysterical, a true cult classic. Loved by film fans since its release more than 20 years ago.

Based on the Frankenstein theme, and written originally by H.P. Lovecraft as Herbert the Re-animator, the story bares little resemblance to the outrageous antics that unfold on our screens. A genre classic indeed.
